IS ONLINE NOTARIZATION VALID IN ALL 50 STATES?

If your document is notarized by a currently commissioned Arizona notary using online technology known as RON (Remote Online Notarization), it is valid in all 50 states, US Territories and Washington DC.  This is true as well for our contracted notaries commissioned in all other US States. 

However, it is up to the signer to determine if the receiving party such as a recorder, court, corporation, state agency or other document recipient will accept the notarization completed with the RON process. This is not the responsibility of the notary or of AZ Roving Notary to make this determination.

Not all notaries can notarize a document for a signer who is not a US Citizen with valid US ID. However, we have notaries that can legally notarize your document for any nationality and located anywhere in the world!

Remote Online Notarization/Virtual Notary

Virtual Notary

An AZ commissioned remote notary must be physically located within the state of Arizona to legally complete a remote notarization. The signer can be located anywhere in the world as long as they have the right technology, pass the ID Verification process, which includes a knowledge based authentication quiz, credential analysis and facial recognition. An electronic stamp is used rather than a physical notary stamp and a trusted document tamper-proof x509 certificate seals the document and is added to an audit trail into the official record of the transaction.

On Mobile Notary and iPEN transactions, our contracted notaries are paid the State Regulated Fee for mileage at $0.625/mile.  Our out-of-state notaries are paid according to the laws of their commissioned states.

  • As a client you are contracting with The AZ Roving Notary Agency and not the individual notary.  All of our notaries are assigned to you by the company and we pay the notary the appropriate State Regulated Rate (i.e. Arizona =$10.00 per notarial act and $0.655/mile based on round trip mileage). All of our contracted notaries carry their own insurance and bond policies. Our out-of-state notaries are paid the commission rate of their state.

  • All notarizations are guaranteed to be done according to Arizona (or other state) statutes and regulations. Paperwork accuracy is the responsibility of the document preparer. 

  • Remote online notarizations performed by a currently commissioned notary are valid in all 50 states, US Territories and Washington, DC.  It is up to the signer to determine if the final recipient will accept an electronically notarized document.
