What does the weather have to do with document execution?

Through May 2024 11 individual $1Billion Weather Related Damages have occurred and additional extensive damages from weather challenges are predicted through the end of 2024.

It may seem like a silly question, but looking at weather data and at the upcoming predictions from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOA), a lot of paper work is generated from weather related challenges and many industries need to be prepared to handle the volume of paperwork generated during weather disasters or near weather disasters. Paperwork requires signatures and in most cases notarization.

How does extreme weather affect industries involved in repairing and rebuilding from weather damages? The most frequent damages involve the roofing and solar installation industry.  Extreme weather causes a rush of paperwork to be created by individual contractors and through the insurance industry.  Along with Notices of Commencement and Notices of Completions that require notarizations, many documents require secure signatures that can be verified and trusted.  It may not be safe to send out a mobile notary to neighborhoods with a a lot damage, so contractors, insurance agents and lawyers must rely on Virtual Notarization to get documents signed and executed legally and efficiently.

Secured Signing in their blog dated June 4th, 2024 report on 7 ways that Remote Online Notarization and Secure Signature execution of documents can benefit industries affected by weather challenges.

  • Business Continuity and Safety

  • Speed and Efficiency

  • Security and Compliance

Bonus Weather Challenge - Extreme Heat and Ozone Alerts:

Here in Arizona we are experiencing another triple digit weather day and yet another Maricopa County Ozone Alert. For those persons who are elderly, immune suppressed, asthmatic or recovering from illness, going to the store or to their lawyer’s office might be out of the question due to the dangers of exposure to extreme heat. In addition to the danger to the signer from the extreme conditions, the notary should not allow themselves to be exposed as well. In this case, remote online notarization is the perfect solution to get those important documents notarized.
